About Me

Mr. Shu-yi Wei (魏树一) is a physicist who got his Ph.D. in 2015 under the supervision of Prof. Zuo-tang Liang (Shandong University).

He was a postdoc at IOPP, Central China Normal University (2015-2017), CPhT, Ecole Polytechnique (2017-2019) and ECT* (2019-2021). He is now a junior researcher at Shandong University at Qingdao, Shandong, China (2021-Now).

His research interest includes: (1) CGC phenomenology; (2) hadron structure and hadronization; (3) QCD resummations; (4) jet quenching in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.

魏树一于2015年5月于山东大学获理学博士学位,其导师是梁作堂教授。

随后,他在华中师范大学(2015年至2017年)、巴黎综合理工学院(2017年至2019年)和欧洲理论核物理及相关学科研究中心(2019年至2021年)做博士后。现在,他是山东大学前沿交叉科学青岛研究院的一名研究员(2021年至今)。

研究兴趣主要包括:

    (1)CGC唯象学;
    (2)三维核子结构以及强子化;
    (3)QCD重求和;
    (4)相对论重离子碰撞中喷注淬火。

Timeline

  • I went to Shandong University in 2006 after the college entrance exam and chose theoretical physics as my major. I benefited a lot from my college life, before my graduation in 2010.
  • I was a graduate student at Theoretical Particle Physics Group, Shandong University, working on Particle Physics Phenomenology, 2010-2015. My advisor is Prof. Zuo-tang Liang.
  • I got my Ph.D. in the May of 2015 (Read More). The title of my Ph.D. thesis is 高能正负电子湮灭过程中碎裂函数的研究. Here is my personal copy (in Chinese).
  • I was a postdoc working on heavy-ion physics at Central China Normal University from 2015 to 2017. I was mainly interested in the jet quenching.
  • I was a postdoc at CPhT, Ecole Polytechnique (2017-2019), Palaiseau, France. I started to work on the small-x saturation physics.
  • Paris is a city with magnificent beauty which you can never get tired of. Here are several selected photos and an introduction (in Chinese). During my stay in Paris, France won the World Cup. Qui ne saute pas n'est pas français.
  • In February of 2019, I received and accepted the postdoc offer from ECT*, Trento, Italy. The position was started in September.
  • In June 2020, I gave a talk in Hard Probes 2020 (video recording). This was my first online presentation. The surreal experience became our shared memory.
  • In early 2021, I was offered a tenure-track position from Shandong University at Qingdao. Looking forward to the onset of the next phase in my life.
  • In the Sep. 2021, I moved back to China. This odyssey takes more than one month to fully accomplish.
  • In the Nov. 2021, I became a Researcher at Shandong University (Qingdao).
